Ski Dubai, the indoor ski-slope attraction at the Mall of the Emirates, will become home to a group of penguins from February.

The penguins will be brought in from SeaWorld in San Diego, US, where they were bred.

A Ski Dubai spokeswoman said: “The lively penguins are being embraced into the Ski Dubai family. It’s very exciting and they will be looked after properly.”

Visitors to the attraction will be able to watch the penguins strut their stuff in the snow in a daily penguin parade.

Ski Dubai is currently building an icy home for the birds, native to the Antarctic, to mirror their normal conditions.

It is unknown as yet how many penguins will be taking up roost in the winter wonderland, or what breed they will be.

SeaWorld was due to launch an attraction in Dubai this year, but its development was halted in 2009 during the global financial crisis.
